Alvaro Bautista finished in 4th position at the JapaneseGP

Alvaro Bautista finished for the third time in fourth position in this season at the Japanese Grand Prix using NISSIN brake ability at NISSIN's home soil!

Round 17 (25/10/2013 - 27/10/2013 at the Twin Ring Motegi Circuit)
The penultimate Grand Prix of the 2013 season was held at the Twin Ring Motegi circuit in Tochigi prefecture, Japan.
The typical stop & go type track is one of the hardest for the brakes amongst all other racetracks. According to the electronic control and alteration of settings and augmented weight (three kilo were added) compared to the 2012 season, the GP machines depend heavily on the brakes. Therefore, NISSIN put new material in, which focuses on elevated temperature.

The Japanese Grand Prix was affected by typhoon #27 and a rainy weekend was expected. The Free Practices on Friday and Saturday were cancelled due to rain. The Qualifying sessions on Saturday were delayed but were held under wet conditions.

The steal disk braking system is used in the Moto2 and the Moto3 class in any weather condition, in the MotoGP class it’s used under wet conditions in order to manage a sensible braking controllability. The carbon disk is used under dry conditions in order to manage the heat.

NISSIN rider Alvaro Bautista (GO & FUN Honda Gresini/HONDA) who made a stable run at the 75-minute Qualifying session gained the seventh position of the grid. In the 45-minute Free Practice session under dry conditions on Sunday, Bautista finished in fifth position close to the top group. In the MotoGP race, which was held at 2:00 p.m. local time, Bautista was unable to manage a good start and dropped down to the 11th position. However, he overtook many riders using new NISSIN's braking ability and his strong points on braking. Bautista came up to the fourth position at the middle of the 24-lap race and finished for the third time in row in fourth position.

CRT rider Bryan Staring (GO&FUN Honda Gresini/FTR HONDA) finished in 22nd position.

In the Moto2 class, the multiple crashes occurred at the second corner in lap one just after the Moto2 race start. The race was red-flagged and the 15-lap race restarted.
Thitipong WAROKORN (Thai Honda PTT Gresini Moto2/SUTER) who had an injury at the Australian Grand Prix replaced Franco MORBIDELLI (Thai Honda PTT Gresini Moto2/SUTER) and finished in 18th position for the first time at the Motegi track.
Decha KRAISART (Singha Eneos Yamaha Tech3) who took part in the 15th round in Malaysia as a wild card rider, finished in 21st position.
Azlan Shah Kamaruzaman (Idemitsu HondaTeam Asia/MORIWAKI) finished in 23rd position.
Doni Tata Pradita (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2/SUTER) crashed out in lap 2 and retired.
Luis Rossi (Tech3/TECH3) came back to the garage in lap nine and retired.

Having started from the seventh position from the third grid, Niccolo Antonelli (GO&FUN Gresini Moto3/FTR HONDA) finished in ninth position in the 20-lap Moto3 race.
Hyuga Watanabe (Team La Fonte Tascarasing/FTR Honda) finished in 15th position and received the first Championship point in this season.
Lorenzo Baldassarri (GO&FUN Gresini Moto3/FTR HONDA) finished in 17th position.

The Japanese wild card rider Sena Yamada (Team Plus One & Endurance) finished in 23rd position.
Hafiq Azmi (Team LaFonte Tascaracing/FTR HONDA) finished in 26th position. Another Japanese wild card rider Hiroki Ono (Honda Team Asia) who scored the eighth position on the third row of the grid in Qualifying session, crashed out in lap three.

Alvaro Bautista-GO&FUN Honda Gresini/MotoGP-4th

“After such a strange weekend with everything that has happened and the two crashes ? one yesterday and one this morning ? the race was more than positive. I felt comfortable with the bike this morning but the crash definitely didn't help and the start wasn't perfect either. I hadn't done a single lap with the front tyre so I wasn't sure how it would feel or how hard I could push it but I built my rhythm up, made some passes and picked up a solid fourth place that could perhaps have been something more if we'd had a better start. Anyway, it is a good finish to a chaotic weekend and that is the most important thing. We have consolidated sixth place in the championship and now we need to keep working to take the next step with Showa, Nissin and Honda. We owe it to everybody that supports us, but especially GO & FUN. ”
