Alvaro Bautista finished in 5th position at the CzechGP

Alvaro Bautista finished in 5th position at the GP of Czech Republic using NISSIN brakes!

Bautista has attracted spectators by a thrilling battle!

Round 11 (23/08/2013 - 25/08/2013 at the Automotodrom Brno Circuit)

The eleventh round of the Championship was held in the Czech Republic, which is one of the top Grand Prix attended with over 220,000 spectators.

Brno is the second capital of Czech Republic and the Automotdom was built in the forest of a suburb of Brno in 1987.

The track makes use of its natural landscape, which consists of down hills in the first parts and up hills in the last parts.

The track also consists of 6 left and 8 right corners. The proper brake setting with machinery weight balance is important for riders while touring the downhill in the first part of the track and entering the corners by acceleration in the last part. The track requires brake controllability compared to its stopping power. Besides, smooth braking and turning are important to derive high speed at the straight and corners. NISSIN brakes, which have huge braking power and fine controllability, are a dependable force for riders for their speedy entering and quick exit of corners.

Alvaro Bautista (GO & FUN Honda Gresini/HONDA) who skilfully managed those forces, scored the second position on the grid in the Qualifying session on Saturday afternoon. Having started from the best position of the season, Bautista drove in the top group at the Sunday race at 01:00 p.m.

He fought with Valentino Rossi (Yamaha) and other rivals till the end of the 22 laps race. The Spaniard was overtaken but thanks to his brilliant brake control while entering corners he overtook again.

His riding thrilled a crowd of over 142,000. He finished in 5th position and earned 11 points.

CRT rider Bryan Staring (GO&FUN Honda Gresini/FTR HONDA) finished in 20th position.

The Moto2 class race was held anomalistic at 11:20 a.m. on Sunday.

Yuki Takahashi (Idemitsu HondaTeam Asia/MORIWAKI) finished in 18th position. Luis Rossi (Tech3/TECH3) finished in 20th position.

Doni Tata Pradita (Federal Oil Gresini Moto2/Suter) finished in 24th position. Lorenzo Baldassarri (GO&FUN Gresini Moto3/FTR HONDA) finished in 25th position.

In Moto3, Nicolo Antonelli (GO&FUN Gresini Moto3/FTR HONDA) fought in the second group and had a thrilling battle with many other riders. Antonelli finished in 10th place when he shot through the chequered flag.

Alessandro Tonucci (Team La Fonte Tascarasing/FTR Honda) fought in the same group with Antonelli and finished in 12th position.

Hyuga Watanabe (Team La Fonte Tascarasing/FTR Honda) finished in 29th position. Lorenzo Baldassarri (GO&FUN Gresini Moto3/FTR HONDA) crashed out in lap 12 and retired.

Alvaro Bautista (GO&FUN Honda Gresini/MotoGP) 5th:

“Once again I had the chance to finish ahead of Rossi, but I ended up just 0.077 behind him at the line. However, I am happy because we had a good race and ran a fast pace that was better than in practice. I had a lot more confidence in the bike today. It was a nice battle with Rossi and maybe he just had a little more than I did at the end. We are going in the right direction, continuing with what we started at Laguna Seca two races ago; this is very important. Last year we did not have a great feeling at Brno, but this year we went well which confirms that things are getting better. We hope to continue like this, because in that way I can carry on enjoying myself alongside the Team, Honda, GO & FUN, Showa and Nissin.”

Nicolo Antonelli (GO&FUN Gresini Moto) 10th:

“I am fairly satisfied. In the race I think I could even have finished in a better position, but I preferred not to take the risk. It was more important to bring the bike home and finish the race, so I rode a more prudent race. I hope that this brings us the confidence to do well at the next race.”
