MotoGP Round-12 CzechGP

Stefan Bradl finished in 5th position for the third time in this season!
Alvaro Bautista finished in 6th position! Both NISSIN riders did really well.

MotoGP Rouund:12(24/08/12 - 26/08/12, at Brno Circuit)
The Grand Prix of Czech Republic has taken place in the frosted suburb of Brno, which is the second largest city of the Czech Republic. The original street circuit was running public roads, in the former Czechoslovakia. The current track was built in 1987.

The 5,403 meters long track consists of 6 left corners and 8 right corners. The track makes use of its natural landscape. The track goes downhill for most of the first half and the last parts of the tracks. The breaking stability is quite important during the downhill, uphill and overtaking parts. The wide Czech track has many passing points because of the possibility to take many different lines. The breaks reached quite a high temperature their during the bruising battle on Sunday. For teams who make a proper setting for the type of breaks, it is the key points to win this race.

It rained on the early morning of Sunday but the MotoGP race was held in dry conditions. Both NISSIN riders performed solidly. Stefan Bradl (LCR Honda MotoGP/HONDA)finished in 5th position and Alvaro Bautita (San Carlo Honda Gresini/HONDA)finished in 6th position. Bradl started from the 7th position and followed the top group. Bradl overtook Valentino Rossi in the 9th lap, which allowed hi to finish in 5th position. This is the third time in this season that Bradl managed to finish in 5th position.

Bautista was passed by Bradl but he managed to overtake Rossi. Bautista finished in 6th position and gained 2 points for the championship standing.
CRT rider, Michele Pirro(San Carlo Honda Gresini/FTR) finished in 14th position, after not not finishing the last five races and gained 2 points.

In the Moto2 class, Xavier Simeon(Tech 3 Racing/TECH3) started from the 21st position and managed to improve from lap to lap. However, Simeon crashed in the 12th lap. Gino Rea(Federal Oil Gresini Moto2/SUTER) crashed in the 12th lap as well but rejoined to the race. Rea finished in 24th position. Ratthapark Wilairot(Thai Honda Gresini Moto2/SUTER) finished in 21st position. Max Neukirchner (Kiefer Racing/KALEX) was unable to join the race due to his inquiry during the crash in Friday's session and

In the Moto3 class, Czech rider Mira Popov replaced Danny Web(Mahindra Racing/MAHINDRA)who injured his left hand at the Grand Prix of Indianapolis. Popov had a brilliant rocket start from the 29th position and managed to reach the third position at the beginning of the race. He struggled and touched an other rider which forced him to retired in the 15th lap. Despite high expectations, Niccolo Antonelli(San Carlo Gresini Moto3/FTR HONDA) who started from the fourth position finished in 23rd position. Kenta Fujii (Technomag-CIP-TSR/TSR HONDA)finished in 26th position. Riccardo Moretti(Mahindra Racing/MAHINDRA)was unable to join the race due to his injury of the crash in Friday's session where he suffered a fracture in his right hand.

Stefan Bradl-LCR Honda MotoGP-5th

“I am quite happy because after some technical issues we have found a good race set-up. I could not push as hard as I wanted yesterday and the warm up session was wet so we could not test the last adjustments but the Team made a very good job and I could make another positive race. During the race I was quite confident and motivated: I took a good start and Rossi was in front of me in the beginning but suddenly he had a technical problem and some smoke came out from his exhaust. After that I thought he was having an engine problem and some oil soiled my visor which cost me a bit of time because I did not what was going on. Also Spies slowed down and Bautista overtook me but after that I started to set my pace. It took some laps to pass Bautista and Rossi again to do my own race. I had a better speed compared to the guys behind me so it’s a pity that we lost the race at the beginning but in any case it was a strong race by my side and want to thank my crew for their concentration and their efforts”.

Alvaro Bautista-San Carlo Gresini-6th

“I am not happy because the change in conditions from yesterday to today created a lot of front-end chatter on our bike and I was close to crashing on several occasions. I also had a problem on the rear with the bike sliding around so much that it felt like I was running the hard tyre. I couldn't push it like I wanted to and it wasn't a good race for us because of this. Tomorrow we have a day of tests and I hope we can use it to resolve our problems.”
