MotoGP Round-2 JerezGP

NISSIN RIDERS BAUTISTA AND BRADL FINISHED 6TH AND 7TH!
NISSIN BRAKE SUPPORT THEIR STRONG RIDE!

MotoGP Round.2 Grand Prix of Spain(27/04/12 - 29/04/12, Jerez Circuit)

The second race of the MotoGP round was held at Jerez circuit in South West Spain, in Andalucia. The European rounds usually start from this venue since 1987 (The 1988 race was run as the Grand Prix of Portugal).

The Spanish Grand Prix has been followed by warm climate and favorable weather. The race weekend was affected by mixed conditions due to rain.
The free practices have been held under wet condition and the Qualifying session was held on dry track conditions on the Saturday afternoon. In the MotoGP class, the bikes apply the carbon disk brake with the dry set up and apply the steel made disk with the wet set up. The steel made disk is susceptible to the effect by the temperature alteration compared with the carbon disk. Also the brake pad set on different on the wet condition. NISSIN brake caliper suit both dry and wet conditions.

The Moto3 warm up session started under wet conditions due to the rain on Sunday. The MotoGP race started at 14:00 p.m local time with dry conditions.
NISSIN riders Bautista and MotoGP rookie Bradl made a good rhythm and can keep up with factory riders. Both NISSIN riders performed their skills in front of discerning Spanish fans. Especially, Bradl show his high potential in overtaking Ducati factory rider Hayden. Michele Pirro (San Calro Honda Gresini FTR-Honda) had a problem with his developing CRT machine and forced an early retirement on 19th lap.

In the Moto2 class, the race started under dry conditions with small wet patches. The large group from the early stage of the race separated into several groups and evolved bruising battles. Large drops of rain started during the Moto2 class race on lap 17. Xavier Simeon(Tech 3 Racing/TECH3) finished 13th, Gino Rea(Federal Oil Gresini Moto2/MORIWAKI) finished 15th. Both riders scored points at the Championship. Other NISSIN riders such as, Ratthapark Wilairot(Thai Honda Gresini Moto2/MORIWAKI) finished 26th and Max Neukirchner Keifer Racing/KALEX) crashed and retired on the 13th lap.

The Moto3 class started in tricky conditions at 11:00 a.m. Almost half the field crashed out (17/34 riders). In his second race, Niccolo Antonelli(San Carlo Gresini Moto3/FTR HONDA)survived and finished on 8th position. Despite of his crash in an early stage, Marcel Schrotter (Mahindra Racing/MAHINDRA)finished 16th. Kenta Fujii(Technomag-CIP-TSR/TSR HONDA)run the 7th position but crashed at 13th corner and retired on 15th lap. Danny Webb(Mahindra Racing/MAHINDRA)entered the pit on the 15th lap due to an engine problem.

Alvaro Bautista-San Carlo Honda Gresini-6th

“It has been a difficult weekend because of the weather but finally we got dry conditions for the race even though there were a few spots around. It was really important to be patient over the opening laps but maybe I was too careful over the opening laps and I wasn't able to get involved in the battle at the very front. Once I got comfortable with the track conditions I was able to pass Bradl and Hayden but Dovizioso, Pedrosa and Crutchlow were too far ahead by then and I just had to defend the position I was in. We have gone one better than Qatar and improved our confidence with this bike, which are the main things we take away from the weekend. I want to thank the team for the great job they have done especially in such challenging conditions this weekend.”

Stefan Bradl-LCR Honda-7th

“I am very happy with this result. First of all I think it was a difficult week end for everybody due to the weather conditions so I want to thank the whole Team for their great job. During the sighting lap I was very nervous because I thought that the last part of the track was wet so I changed my helmet visor and everything was clearer. I was capable to attack my competitors since the beginning of the race but I found it a bit risky so I waited a little bit and after some laps I was fighting with Bautista and Hayden. We were doing well but Hayden blocked me a little bit in the middle of the race and Bautista got away from us. When he was gone I started my fight with Nicky which I enjoyed very much especially in the last two laps. I got some problems with my right arm because it was sore in the middle of the race and this cost me a bit of time because I had to force the bike in a different way. Basically this was another positive week end for me and I really enjoyed the applause the Team made for me when I was back at the garage”.
